Durbin leads Lady Vikings

Staff report

At Mayfield, Alex Durbin had a huge game for St. Mary with 25 points and 23 rebounds in a 65-48 triumph over Mayfield in Saturday's high school girls play.

Casey Kupper also starred on offense for the Vikings with 20 points. For the Lady Cardinals, Madison Womack led with 12 points with Samantha Looper close behind with 10.

St. Francis 68, CFS 22 - At Briansburg, Christian Fellowship fell behind St. Francis early and the cold shooting prevented it from ever making a serious run. The Eagles shot a frigid 15 percent (6 of 40) from the field in the loss.

St. Francis High School, located in the former YMCA building in downtown Louisville, improved to 7-2. The Wyverns were led in scoring by Steve Mack with 22 and Greg Hamilton with 10.

Nick Gillespie topped CFS with 10.

St. Mary 68, Mayfield 60 - At Mayfield, Patrick Hubert had another big game for St. Mary with 30 points in a win over Mayfield. McCall Overstreet scored all but two of his 15 points for the Vikings in the second half as Wes Averill finished with 11 points. Nick Felts scored all of his team-high 15 points for the Cardinals on 3-pointers with Haley Ballard and Marshall Bacon each scoring 13.

Cole Gardner sank five 3-pointers on his way to 19 points while Wildcat teammate Corbin Estes finished with 11 points. Jericho Wilkerson led the Lyons with 16 points.
