Lourdes hospital hired Janet Simerly as chief nursing officer.
Simerly brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to Lourdes with more than 15 years of experience in hospital administration, program development and management.
Most recently, Simerly has served in various roles at St. Mary’s Health System in Knoxville, Tenn., where she was the director of ambulatory services and C.N.O. of Turkey Creek Medical Center, formerly known as Baptist Hospital West.

Lourdes hospital welcomed Jennifer Pierce to the position of program director for Lourdes Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Pierce graduated from Southern Illinois University. She comes to Lourdes with 19 years of management experience.
Lourdes Wound Care Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds that have not significantly improved during the course of conventional treatment.

Baptist Health Paducah was recognized by WomenCertified in the nation’s top 10 percent for orthopedic care.
For comprehensive orthopedic services with good outcomes, including arthroscopy, joint replacement, spine surgery, MRI and physical therapy, just 363 hospitals out of 4,600 earned the Women’s Choice Award for “Best Hospitals for Patient Experience in Orthopedics.”
Baptist was recognized by the same organization in 2011 and 2012 among “America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience” and as “Best Hospitals for Obstetrics” earlier this year.

The Murray-Calloway County Hospital Board of Trustees, and hospital CEO Jerry Penner, recognized laboratory director Linda Cavitt and her staff during an April 24 meeting. Cavitt and her staff were honored for their excellence in accreditation and achieving zero deficiencies from the state.
The hospital’s radiology department was awarded a three-year term of re-accreditation in ultrasound as the result of an extensive review by the American College of Radiology.SNbS
