The Lourdes Foundation received a $52,892 grant from the Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation to assist in funding the Lourdes Hospice & Palliative Care program.
The grant, awarded in July, will be used to fund a chaplain position for the hospice’s spiritual care program that will help improve quality of life for both patients and family.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the Carson-Myre Foundation for allowing Lourdes Hospice to continue ministering to the spiritual needs of patients suffering from chronic illness or serious injury,” said Kay Williams, Lourdes Hospice executive director.
“Lourdes Hospice and Palliative Care has been serving our region for 30 years. This grant will allow our comprehensive palliative care program to continue its faith-based ministry outreach.”
Donations to Lourdes Foundation help improve the community’s health by providing support for advanced technology and other projects and services that enhance patient care.
