JOPPA, Ill. — Wayne Allen Bruce Sr., 61, of Joppa, formerly of Metropolis, Ill., passed away Thursday morning, August 2, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Brenda Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Metropolis, Ill.

Wayne was survived by one sister, Brenda Latham; one brother, Gary Bruce; five children, Wayne Allen Bruce Jr. and his wife, Licia of Joppa, Michael Wayne Bruce and his wife, Lori of Metropolis, Tiffany Dawn (Bruce) Woolverton and her husband, Dakota of Joppa, Dwayne Edward Bruce of Chester, Ill., and Jamie Lee Serles and her husband, Mike Kanady of McLeansboro, Ill.

Wayne is survived by 18 grandchildren, Joshua Wrye of Metropolis and Jacob, Jordan, Jasmaine and Marcus Bruce, all of Joppa, children to Wayne and Licia Bruce; Kirsten and Keegan Bruce of Metropolis, children to Mike and Lori Bruce; Anthoney Ford of Metropolis, Christian and Aubrey Dassing of Metropolis, Lindsey Bruce of Joppa, and Keegan, Kyleigh and Kealynn Woolverton, all of Joppa, children to Tiffany and Dakota Woolverton; and Sean Graham, Peyton Mattingley, Jaylee Boston and Mason Boston, all of McLeansboro, children of Jamie Serles and Mike Kanady.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marybelle (Scott) and Freeman Bruce; his wife, Pamela (Brown) Bruce; three sisters, Mary Francis Bruce, Wilma Latham and Phyllis Marie Bruce; one brother, William Bruce; one nephew, Jason Bruce, and one granddaughter, Skyla Allen.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be his son-in-law, Dakota Woolverton; nephews, Joe Bruce and Dakota Bruce; brother, Allen Patterson; grandson, Jordan Bruce; and family friend, Matt Holt.
