MOUNDS, Ill. — Vivian Imogene “Jean” Sowers Price, 92, of Ullin, formerly of Mounds, died at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the home of her daughter.
She was a member of Pulaski Unit Homemakers Extension and served on the Extension Board. She was a former employee with P.N. Hirsch Store in Mounds and retired from Meridian School District. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mounds.
Survivors include her children, Judy Crippen of Ullin and Jerry Price of Mounds; one sister, Alta Mae Taylor of Mounds; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Sowers of Mounds; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Price; three sons, Earl Price, David Price, and Bobby Price; five sisters, and one great-great-grandson. Her parents were Arvle Sowers and Ina Mae Crippen Sowers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge with the Rev. Jerry Herring officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery east of Ullin.
Friends may call between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
