CADIZ — Virginia Oliver, 89, of Cadiz died Tuesday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

She was a member of New Light Baptist Church, a homemaker and worked as a babysitter for many years.

She is survived by one son, Roy Randall Oliver; two daughters, Hariette Stewart of Oak Grove and Iva Dawson of Cadiz; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Denford Oliver; one daughter, Mackie Oliver; one brother; and three sisters.

Her parents were Fount Paul “Doc” and Mary Lucy McCormick Oliver.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Stewart Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
