Vernon L. Pryor, 74, a native of Paducah, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Western Baptist Hospital.

He attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and recently attended Church of the Living God. He was a city maintenance worker in New York and retired from the city of Paducah Maintenance Department.

He is survived by five sisters, Mary Williams of Columbia, S.C., Betty Gray and Eva Berry, both of Madison, Ill., Mabel Johnson of Venice, Ill., and Erma Snorton of Peoria, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Commodore and Estelle Tharpe Pryor. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Mundy Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Alvin Ware Jr. and Calvin Cole Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
