KUTTAWA — Verl Carr, 83, of Kuttawa died Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Carr was a former ranger for the federal parks system in Florida, was former owner and operator of Carr’s Auto Body Shop in Paducah, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of Saratoga United Methodist Church in Lyon County.
He is survived by his wife, June Beamon Carr; two sons, Jim Carr of Lawrenceville, Ill., and David Carr of St. Joseph, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Angie Smith of Gilbertsville and Susan Withrow of Kell, Ill.; one stepson, Greg Balding of Salem, Ill.; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Rice of Pieora, Ill., and Jannell Holycross in Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by one grandson; one stepson, David Baldin, and one brother. His parents were Theodore and Ella Clark Carr.
There will not be a local service or visitation.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, Ill., with the Rev. Steve McVay officiating. Military rites will be conducted.
There will be no visitation.
