BENTON — Ms. Thelma Johnson, age 84, of Benton, Ky., died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was a member of the Methodist Faith.
She was the daughter of the late Prentice Estel Crawford and the late Ada (Grissom) Crawford.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Taylor and husband Bob of Sikeston, Mo., Diane Brown and husband Delmer of Lohman, Mo., Terry Reside and husband Dan of Springfield, Ill., and Kathy Rudolph and husband Van of Calvert City, Ky.; one brother, Bobby Crawford of Mich.; one sister, Velma Ruth Litchford of Sikeston, Mo.; six grandchildren, Randy Carmack, Scott Carmack, Brett Rudolph, Chad Rudolph, Chelsey Stegman and Sheena Stegman; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Johnson; two brothers, Jewel Crawford and Clyde Crawford; two sisters; Ruby Oliver and Joy LaVell; and one grandaughter, Brandy Brown Clark.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Ky., with Dr. Eddie Bromley officiating. Interment will be in the Calvert City Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
