Syble Poindexter, 80, of Reidland passed away at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, September 17, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Poindexter was a longtime member of Reidland Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also taught remedial reading at Reidland Elementary School for several years.

Surviving are two sons, Mike Poindexter of Ledbetter and Alan (Susan) Poindexter of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Ed (Mary) Littlejohn of Palma; two sisters, Vada (Harold) Gilbert of Palma and Peggy Belcaster of Park Ridge, Ill.; one grandson, Brandon Poindexter of Kevil; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Poindexter; four brothers, Ernie, Howard, Wallace and Frank Littlejohn; and two sisters, Mary Lou Nelson and Flora Bell Downing. Her parents were Calvin and Annie Littlejohn.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Lindsey Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at McMurry Chapel Cemetery in Livingston County.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
