METROPOLIS, Ill. — Skylar L. Dennis, 15, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012, with the Rev. Larry T. Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.

Skylar is survived by her mother and stepfather, Tonya and Lydell Bradford of Metropolis; father, Sylvester Dennis of Washington; four stepsisters, Rachel and Danielle Bradford, both of Metropolis, Tamera Crowden of Delta, Mo., and Deja Rohfling of Jonesboro, Ill.; grandfather, Marvin Maxwell of Vienna, Ill.; grandmother and step-grandfather, Karen and Jim Russell of Benton, Ill; paternal grandmother, Willie Lee Dennis of Pulaski, Ill.; maternal great-grandmother, Ruth McClellan of Mounds, Ill.; great-grandfather, Jerry Parrott of Mounds, Ill.; special aunts and uncles, Ivan and Blair Maxwell, both of Tunnel Hill, Ill., Heather and Jack Miller, both of Benton, Ill., Scott McClellan of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; special cousins, Ellie and Issac Maxwell, both of Tunnel Hill, Ill.; Jamie, Candace, Jordyn, Cameron, Carson McClellan, all of Tamms, Ill.; special friends, Deva Mansfield, Dezaria Hill, and Keanna Statem; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Cassidy Dennis; grandfather, Carl McClellan; grandfather, James Ray Maxwell; and grandparents, Sam and Della Johnson.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
