SMITHLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones of Smithland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Saturday.

Mr.  Jones and the former Shirley Marie Faughn were married Dec. 22, 1961, in Paducah.

Mrs. Jones is the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Faughn.

Mr. Jones retired with 35 years’ service as a boilermaker with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 40. He is the son of the late Virgil and Ellen Jones.

They have three daughters: Shirley Henson, Rita Cain and Tina Kaufman, all of Smithland; and one grandson.
