Ray and Teresa Shear of Winchester announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Eleanor Shear, to Ben Elliott Stewart, son of Ken and Susan Stewart of Lovelaceville.

Miss Shear is the granddaughter of Norma Simmermacher of Powell, Ohio, and the late Robert Simmermacher, and Ruth Shear of Danville and the late James A. Shear. She is a 2004 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington and a 2011 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. She is employed by the McCracken County Attorney in Paducah.

Mr. Stewart is the grandson of Malcolm Stewart of La Center and the late Martha Jane Stewart, and the late Paul and Alma May Elliott. He is a 2004 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School, a 2008 graduate of Centre College in Danville and a 2011 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is employed by The Bryant Law Center in Paducah.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Sterling.
