CERULEAN — Sammie Bentley, 86, of Cerulean died Wednesday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Bentley was a member of Cadiz United Methodist Church. He retired as plant maintenance supervisor for Henderson County Schools. He was also the former owner and operator of Bentley Maytag in Cadiz. He was a former member of Cadiz Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dr. Hilda Bentley; three sons, Dr. Stephen Bentley of Louisville, Dennis Bentley of Hillsboro, Mo., and Jeffrey Bentley of Cerulean; one daughter, Katherine Kerr of Murray; one sister, Geneva Lyles of Florida, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. His father was Henry Ray Crabtree, his mother was Era Dennis Blick, and his foster mother was Iva Bentley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cadiz United Methodist Church with Revs. Scott Wilson and Jamus Redd officiating. Burial will be at Cerulean Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
