METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Riepe of Metropolis will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary with a tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Midway. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. Riepe and the former Ruth S. Dieckman were married Sept. 26, 1936, by F.M. Wells in Metropolis. Their attendants were Paul Stagman and Vonda Goins, sister of the bride.

Mrs. Riepe is the daughter of the late John and Belle Dieckman.

Mr. Riepe is a retired timber cutter and farmer. He is the son of the late Ruben and Kayte Riepe.

They are the parents of Clyde Riepe of Bandana, Ky., Jerry Riepe of Schiller Park, Ill., Sue Skrine of Cicero, Darla Rivas of Kentwood, Mich., the late Bobby Gene Riepe and the late Janet Kay Riepe. They have eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
