METROPOLIS, Ill. — Ruth Riepe, 95, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at her residence with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Linwood Mathis and Robin Mizell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Ruth was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ for 75 years, an avid quilter, homemaker, and devoted Christian. She was a role model for all of her children, family, and friends.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 76 years, Wendell Riepe; two sons, Clyde Riepe and wife Mary Kay of Bandana and Jerry Riepe of Schiller Park, Ill.; two daughters, Sue Skrene and husband Everett of Cicero, Ill., and Darla Rivas and husband Luis of Travel City, Mich.; one grandson which she and Wendell raised, Todd Adams and wife Melanie of Braidwood, Ill.; one special nephew, Duane Goines and wife Karen of Chicago; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Belle (Averitt) Dieckman; four brothers, Lavern, Ernest, George, and James Dieckman; two sisters, Vanda Goines and Leonna Jones; and two infant children, Bobby Jean and Janet Kay Riepe.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2013, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
