Russell Mark Kaler, 88, of Lidgerwood, N.D., died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at North Dakota Veteran’s Home in Lisbon, N.D.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kaler; two daughters, Paula Underwood of Alexandria, Va., and Beth Fortier of Fargo, N.D.; two sons, Kip Kaler of Fargo, and Joel Kaler of Lidgerwood, N.D.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth SansSouie of Keokuk, Iowa, Betty Warthan of Monrovia, Ind., Mary Beckman of Paducah, and June Mohler of Hickory, and two brothers, Jack Kaler of Hickory and Jerry Don Kaler of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. His parents were Lee and Clara (Shelton) Kaler.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidgerwood with the Rev. Douglas Wanderer officiating, with military honors. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Frank Family Funeral Home in Lidgerwood. There will also be visitation after 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
