GOLCONDA, Ill. — Roger Allen, 59, of Golconda, Ill., passed away at his home on August 10, 2012.

He was born August 11, 1953, in Rosiclare, Ill., to William Jack and Grace (Glass) Allen. Roger was a retired riverboat captain and had worked for B&H Towing and Ashland.

Roger is survived by one son, William Allen of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; two daughters, Ginger and husband Todd Ginestra of Lady Lake, Fla., Crissy and husband Eddie Bundren of Paducah; one sister, Jacklyn and husband Randy Shoemaker of Golconda; one brother, Tony and wife Della Allen of Golconda; three grandchildren, Blake Ginestra, Lauren Bundren, Brooklyn Bundren; and beloved dog, Captain.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Wayne Allen.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. Roy Baker will conduct the service. Visitation will be from Noon until time of service.
