Rodney C. Smith, 85, of Paducah died at 7 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
Mr. Smith was a retired instrument supervisor for Martin Marietta Energy Systems.
He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church and the American Legion and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Alan Smith of Kennesaw, Ga., Wayne Smith of League City, Texas, and Scott Smith of Kevil; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean L. Morgan Smith; one sister; and one brother. His parents were Roy T. Smith and Juanita Igert Smith.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Milliken and Barry Roberts officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
