SHARPE — Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Davis of Sharpe recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Davis and the former Ruby Nell Sledd were married Aug. 18, 1947, in Carrsville. Their attendants were Rose Sledd Crotser and Uel Sledd, sister and brother of the bride.

Mrs. Davis is the daughter of the late Cazy Herlie Sledd and Nannie Mary King Sledd.

Mr. Davis enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1935 and served on active duty for more than 20 years, retiring as a chief. He is the son of the late Charles Courtney Davis and Junie Marie McCandless Davis.

They are the parents of Brenda Davis of Sharpe and Charles H. Davis of Merritt Island, Fla. They have one stepgrandson and three great-grandchildren.
