Robert Just Sr.
SMITHTON, Ill. — Robert I. Just Sr., 90, of Smithton, Ill., born August 17, 1922, in Freeburg, Ill., died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, Ill.
Mr. Just was an engineer for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Robert was a member of the Smithton Turner Society, Smithton, Ill., and also the St. Clair Masonic Lodge No. 24, Belleville, Ill. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Freeburg, Ill., and Hope Church, Belleville, Ill. Mr. Just was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann, nee Lebruska, Just, whom he married on April 17, 1948, and who died on October 29, 1994; his parents, William F. and Emma F., nee Baumgarte, Just; and a sister, Wilma Just.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah (Paul) Geppert of Fairview Heights, Ill.; one son, Robert (Julie) Just Jr. of Columbia, Ill.; two grandchildren, Matthew (Cheryl) Geppert and Amy Geppert; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Geppert, Ryan Geppert, and Emma Geppert; one brother, William W. (Pam) Just of Florence, S.C.; and one sister, Linda (Louis) Townsend of Paducah, Ky.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Freeburg, Ill., with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
