MURRAY — Robert E. Hicks Sr., 79, of Murray died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Hicks was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He worked at Tappan Manufacturing Company and was an auto diesel mechanic. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Leath; four daughters, Deborah Benham of Union City, Tenn., and Cheryl Hicks, Melissa Petik and Rebecca Key, all of Murray; three sons, Michael Hicks of Newton, Kan., Robert E. Hicks Jr. of Murray and David Hicks of Fulton; one sister, Betty Meadows Mohundro of Murray; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
His parents were Robert Leland and Mattie Evelyn Trout Hicks.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the funeral home.
