MAYFIELD — Robert E. Griffith, 83, of Dublin, Ga., formerly of Mayfield, died Sunday in Dublin, Ga.

He was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and the Ben F. Williams Sunday School class in Dublin, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Grace B. Griffith; two sons, James Griffith of Spartanburg, S.C., and Robert J. Griffith of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a daughter, Ellen Griffith of Warner Robins, Ga.; two stepchildren, Keith Johnson and Loy Moorer, both of Montgomery, Ala.; a granddaughter; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Andrus Griffith. His parents were Jones and Mary Griffith.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maplewood Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Hansen officiating. There will be no visitation. Byrn Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
