METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. Robert A. “Bob” Gallagher, 87, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 7:42 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Lourdes hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Larry Logsdon will officiate. Entombment will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gallagher was the retired owner/operator of Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn “Joy” Gallagher of Metropolis; daughter, Janie Coffman of Carrollton, Texas; sons, Robert E. Gallagher and Glen A. Gallagher, both of Metropolis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Lloyd and Hallie Jane (Hicks) Gallagher; and a daughter, Dorinda Hankins.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Bowman, Brian Hankins, Glen Gallagher, CJ Beach, Nathan Lott, and Justin Wolfe.
