BENTON — Richard Cope, 64, of Benton, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at his residence in Benton.

He was a welder for Progressive Rail. Mr. Cope was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

He was the son of the late Irvin Willard Cope and the late Zelma Lugene (McCain) Cope.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy (Peck) Cope of Benton; three daughters, Debbie King of Thompson Station, Tenn., Sara Logue of Benton, and Lyndsey Cope of Benton; one son, Clint Cope of Benton; two brothers, Russell Cope of Benton and Wayne Cope of Benton; and four grandchildren, Dylan King, Garrett Logue, Maggie King, Grady Logue.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Bradley Cope.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Collier Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Cole Cemetery in Benton.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, at Collier Funeral Home.
