THEBES, Ill. — Raymond Charles Snell, 71, of Thebes, formerly of Cairo, died at 1:26 a.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Snell was a member of Alexander Freewill Baptist Church, past president and former secretary for the Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative Board at Dongola, and former member of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative. He owned the Snell Service Station in Olive Branch and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Anna L. Lovell Snell; one brother, Lloyd Eugene Snell of Olympia, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were Charley Snell and Flossie E. Miller Snell.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Alexander Freewill Baptist Church in rural Thebes with Earnest Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Twente Cemetery in rural Thebes.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at the church.
