Rick and Nancy Ragland of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Rae Ann Ragland, to Michael Benjamin Walker, son of Cliff and Terry Walker of Union City, Tenn.

Miss Ragland is the granddaughter of Bob and Dot Simmons of Paducah, and the late Edward and Mildred Ragland. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. She is employed by the McCracken County Public Schools.

Mr. Walker is the grandson of Dr. Harold Butler of Union City, Tenn., and the late Mary Nell Butler, and the late Lawrence and Nana-Jean Walker. He is a 2007 graduate of the Savannah College of Art Design with a bachelor’s degree in illustration. He is pursuing a teaching certification from Murray State University.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at First Christian Church in Paducah.
