R.E. “Bob” Peters
EDDYVILLE — Mr. R.E. “Bob” Peters, 88, formerly of Eddyville, Ky., died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn., from a short illness.
He was a retired railroad engineer for ICR and a member of LaVergne First United Methodist Church in Smyrna, Tenn., and a member of the Princeton VFW #5595. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had served on the USS Belle Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Glennon Peters of Smyrna, Tenn.; one son, Robert Douglas and wife Carol of Clarksville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Brad Demonbreun and wife Christie of Smyrna, Tenn., and Derry Stone and wife Donna of Crown Point, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Miklos of Stone Mountain, Ga.; five grandchildren, Staci Turner and husband Jason of Antioch, Tenn., Robert Craig Peters and wife Carolyn of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Angela Berrigan and husband Paul of Clarksville, Tenn., Melissa Griffey and husband Bryan of Clarksville, Tenn., and Ethan Demonbreun of Smyrna, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Preston Griffey of Clarksville, Tenn., and Landon Griffey of Clarksville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey “D.A.” Peters and Della Wyatt Peters; three brothers, Roy James Peters, Everette Peters, Carl Peters; and one sister, Sallie Mae Hale.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 1, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Bro. Denman Frazer officiating. Burial will follow in Dycusburg Cemetery in Crittenden County.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the funeral home.
