Peggy Sue Ellegood, age 80, of Paducah passed away at her home with her children by her side at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013.
Peggy was of the Christian faith and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved socializing and never met a stranger. Of the many joys in her life, her greatest was her family. Her grandchildren, who nicknamed her “Pebbie,” were the highlight of her life.
She was a supporter of the St. Jude Foundation and the March of Dimes and gave to many local animal shelters because of her love for animals. Peggy worked in the food service industry for her entire professional career. She was employed by Lourdes Hospital, USEC and retired from Citizens Bank with over 10 years of service. She often spoke of the many friends she made over the years and felt blessed to have each one.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Ray, Sharon Hales and husband Sid, Karen Reeves, Lisa Walden and husband Butch, all of Paducah; her grandchildren, Alison Ray, Austin and Emily Fairfield, Natalie and Alex Hagan, Jacob Hales, Madison Reeves; and many nieces and nephews; her sisters, Doris Smith, Nancy Ford, Elizabeth Shryock, all of Paducah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur J. Nall Sr. and Martha Elizabeth Bennett Nall; her son, Michael Leo Ellegood; her sister Linda Boyd; and her brother, Wilbur J. Nall Jr.
