EDDYVILLE — Paxton D. Smith, 65, of Eddyville died Sunday at his home.

He was a timber cutter, member of the VFW Post 5595, member of Rosine Masonic Lodge, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith; two daughters, Penny Smith of Cadiz and Mary Smith of Princeton; three sisters, Shirley Osborne, Dona Embry, and Martha Riley, all of Ohio County; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by one brother; and  three sisters.

His parents were James and Jeanette Smith.

A graveside service will be held later at the Saratoga Methodist Church Cemetery in Lyon County.

Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of arrangements.
