Paul Anderson Blair, 85, of Paducah passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Southgate Health Care in Metropolis, Ill.
Mr. Blair was a retired construction worker and was a 42-year member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. He served his country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army. He served in the 2nd Infantry Division which played an outstanding part in the early phases of the Korean War. His division was awarded its highest honor the Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation.
He leaves behind his family, his wife, Shirley Franklin Blair; one daughter, Paula Peyton and husband, Jamie of Paducah; two grandchildren, J.P. Peyton and Audrey Peyton, both of Paducah; two sisters, Sylvia Huddleston and Mary Griffin, both of Paducah; one brother, Sam Blair of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sugg M. Blair and Irene McElrath Blair; three sisters, Christine Pullen, Goldie Burnett and Lillian Alexander.
Funeral services with full Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Whetstone and the Rev. Larry Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
