Patsy “Pat” Ruth (Todd) Rikel, 78, of Paducah, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:35 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.

Pat was born in Whiteville, Tenn., on April 25, 1934, to the late Paul and Maudie Hollowell Todd. She married Richard Frederick Rikel on June 2, 1954, and they celebrated 45 years of happiness until his death in 1999. Pat was a 60-year member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was a loving and nurturing mother who took care of everyone in her family, especially enjoying cooking meals for them. She was a dedicated volunteer for Hope Unlimited and worked as a private sitter and caregiver for various people throughout her life.

She is survived by five loving children, Margi Harris of Ottawa, Kansas, Kathy Leigh of Paducah, Martha Kloss of Paducah, Mark Rikel of Georgetown, Ky., and Paul Rikel of Paducah; a sister, Janie Plant of New Johnsonville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Sloyer, Stacy Govens, Michael Leigh, Christa Leigh, Jami Jenks, Ricky Kloss, Joey Rikel, Tanner Grugin, Travis Grugin, and McKinley Rikel; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Aaron Stamper officiating. Burial will be held privately at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and will resume at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
