CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. — Opal B. Frailey, 91, of Cave-In-Rock, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at her home.

She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in education. During World War II, she worked in an airplane factory in Detroit. She was a teacher at St. John’s School in Hardin County, Cave-In-Rock Grade School, and Hardin County Consolidated School District. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Marla Frailey-Berger; two grandchildren; a sister, Laura Switzer; two brothers, Weldon “Bill” Barnard and Ray Barnard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Frailey; two sisters; and three brothers. Her parents were Joe Gentry Barnard and Myra Alma Milligan Barnard.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at First Christian Church in Cave-In-Rock with the Rev. Jeff Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cave Hill Cemetery in Cave-In-Rock, the First Christian Church of Cave-In-Rock, or any charity.
