SALEM — Ms. Norene Bozeman Barnes, 84, of Salem, Ky., formerly of Marco Island, Fla., passed away Wednesday morning at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services.

Ms. Barnes was born in Orange, Texas, to the late Ben and Corine West Bozeman. She was a registered nurse stationed at Great Lakes, Ill., Naval Hospital, during the Korean Conflict, where she met and married her husband. She spent many of her years in Waukegan, Ill., raising her children. She then moved to Marco Island, Fla., where she designed and produced her dress, the Marco Sari, and became an accomplished Realtor with Century 21. In the year 2006, Ms. Barnes had a stroke, and in 2008 accepted the plan of salvation at Hampton Baptist Church. Ms. Barnes lived out the remainder of her life with her family by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Barnes Driver and her husband Tony of Paducah, Ky.; her son, Dr. William Barnes Jr. and his wife Jamie of Burna, Ky.; four grandchildren, Courtney Foster, Shannon Touhey, Abigail Barnes, and William Barnes, III; eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin Rain Elder, Evelyn Emaya Elder, Adriel Nicole Barnes, William Coleman Paris Foster, Emma Claire Touhey, William Evan Barnes, Zoe Grace Foster, and Shawn Patrick Touhey.

Ms. Barnes was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and her parents.

All services will be private.
