CADIZ — Nella Gentry, 86, of Cadiz, died Tuesday at her home.

She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a teacher at Oak Grove School, worked at Elk Brand Manufacturing, and retired from Western State Hospital as a secretary.

She is survived by several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hughes Gentry, and a brother. Her parents were Alfred and Nellie Stewart Thomas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Paxton Redd and Hal Shipley officiating. Burial will follow at Starkey Thomas Cemetery in Trigg County.

The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
