Mrs. Edna “Kakky” Kean Eastwood
KARNAK, Ill. — Mrs. Edna “Kakky” Kean Eastwood, 89, of Karnak died Friday, April 5, 2013, at 12:45 p.m. at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.
Kakky had attended the First United Methodist Church in Karnak. She was retired from the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis. In Kakky’s earlier years, she worked at Main Brothers Box and Lumber Company in Karnak. Kakki was the Maternal Matriarch of the company and brand and she was among the strongest and earliest supporters of Dippin’ Dots. She enjoyed the blessings as she watched the company expand and prosper.
Kakky is survived by two daughters, Kay Ann Jones and husband Curt of Brentwood, Tenn., Rebecca Lynn and David Miller of Grand Chain; eleven grandchildren, Randy Ashby, Malinda Ashby, Kimberly Butwell, Jason and Julie Eastwood, Kristen Henry, Breanna Bievenue, Dustin Eastwood, Monica Brown, Miranda Miller and Tracey Jones; 10 great grandchildren, Taylen and Kylee Ashby, Lila Tolbert, Allison Eastwood, Lillian and Lucas Henry, Cayden Bievenue, Ashley and Emily Brown and Arissa McClellan; also several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Kakky was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Eastwood; her parents were Charles and Hattie Lowe Wilson Kean; one daughter, Renee Ashby; one son, Randy Eastwood; six sisters, Claris Wilson, Martha Clark, Alice Summers, Louise Eastwood, Erma Hogg and Blanche Neimeyer; four brothers, Vance Wilson, Owen, Joe and John Kean.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Rev. Steve Heisner officiating.
Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap. Visitation will be Sunday evening, April 7, 2013, from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
