Mildred Nace, 87, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 6:09 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at her residence. Mildred was born in Paducah, Ky., in the Highpoint Community. She was retired from the Florsheim Shoe Factory with 46 years of service. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Leona Oldham of Paducah; son, Wendall Nace of Paducah; sisters, Lanora Glesson, Ethal O’Nan and Ola Hoard, all of Paducah; five grandchildren, Charles Oldham, Juliann Holmes, John Oldham and Toby Nace, all of Paducah, and El Lana Edwards of Alta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Emma Holmes and Aiden Nace; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Edward Nace; two sisters, Clara Wilson and Gladis Mathews; and a brother, Johnnie McElroy. Her parents were Noman Jasper McElroy and Mary Ann Mathis McElroy.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Frank Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
