Michael P. Bloodworth
Michael P. Bloodworth passed away at Baptist Health on June 6, 2013. Michael was born in New York City. Michael is the son of Everett and Kate Bloodworth. He has two sisters, Laura Wadley of Hardin, Ky., and Cherilyn Barrett of Riverside, Calif. Michael leaves behind a wife, Destiny; son, Gage; and stepdaughter, Olivia. He also leaves behind an extended family who will miss him dearly.
Michael was a graduate of Murray High School. He was fully medically retired member of the Army National Guard having served in the Iraqi war. He survived five separate IED blasts and earned a Purple Heart for his bravery. He also assisted with relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Michael joined the Guard because he believed in defending America and the rights and responsibilities of Americans.
Michael was a great fan of street car racing and earned several titles with his beloved Mustangs. He also supported veterans’ groups. He was involved in motorcycles. Michael was an avid musician. He played the drum set, and participated in drum corps during his senior year of high school. He made several cd’s of his music. He also played guitar with a local group.
Michael was saved and baptized at Christian Fellowship Church in Benton, Ky. Visitation for friends and family will be 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013, at Christian Fellowship Church on Hwy. 68 East. Service will be at 8:30 a.m. Interment immediately following will be at Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, with a full military salute.
