SALEM — Melvin Horton, 82, of Salem died Sunday at Salem Springlake Health and Rehabilitation.

He was a retired custodian with Livingston County School system.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Wooldridge Horton of Paducah; one stepson, Jim Wooldridge of Paducah; one brother, Fred Horton of Gordon, Iowa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Edward Horton and Rosie Horton Campbell.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clarks River Cemetery in Symsonia with the Rev. Richard Dobbs officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
