GRAND CHAIN, Ill. — Max Blasdel, 84, of Grand Chain died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Blasdel was a member of Ohio Chapel Church and Masonic Lodge 660. He was a first mate for Valley Line Tow Boat Co.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Mathis Blasdel; two daughters, Donna Gail Holhubner of Sedalia, Mo., and Kathy Jo Ryan of Grand Chain; two grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ray Blasdel of Reidland; and one sister, Lois Wood of Metropolis, Ill.
His parents were Raymond and Mabel Badgley Blasdel.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2012, at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with the Rev. Steve Heisner officiating. Interment will follow in Ohio Chapel Cemetery in Grand Chain.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2012, at the funeral home, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m.
