MURRAY — Mary Julia Swift Thurmond, 87, of Murray died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.

She was a homemaker and member of Goshen United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Thurmond of Mayfield, and Randy Thurmond and Gary Thurmond, both of Murray; one sister, Pat Mahanna of St. Louis; one brother, Bill Swift of Eddyville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Thurmond; one brother; and five sisters. Her parents were Harper and Velma Pace Swift.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. David Allbritten officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery.
