POSSUM TROT — Mrs. Mary Edith Peeler, age 85, of Possum Trot, Ky., formerly of the Melber community, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 12:55 p.m. at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility in Possum Trot.

Mrs. Peeler was a member of Diggs Chapel Methodist Church and she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Peeler is survived by her two daughters, Dianne (Ron) Holt of Eddyville, Ky., and Judy (Wilburn “Duck”) Adkins of Paducah, Ky.; two sons, Jackie (Diane) Peeler of Hickory, Ky., and Benny (Cindy) Peeler of Melber, Ky.; her brother, Lennis Dowdy of Bardwell, Ky.; five grandchildren, Angela Feezor, Tony Adkins, Misty Paxton, Holly Gray and Teesha Smith; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Peeler; her parents, Verb and Essie Dowdy; her grandson, Joey Dale Adkins; four brothers, George, Ernest, Junior and Howard Dowdy; and three sisters, Ruby Dowdy, Dorothy Tucker and Dink Hobbs.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 12 noon at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky., with the Rev. Jamie Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Kansas Cemetery.
