BENTON — Martha Sue “Scottie” West, 78, of Benton, Ky., passed away at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

She was a member of Calvert City United Methodist Church. She graduated in 1954 from Murray State University and was a registered nurse at Western Baptist Hospital. She loved to fish, work in her flower beds and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Cecil West of Benton, Ky.; her children, Clay West and wife Patricia of Calvert City, Ky., Susan McGregor and husband Joe Mark of Benton, Ky., and Sandy Grogan and husband Tom of Ridgeland, Miss.; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn West, Callie Duke, Weston Duke, Charlie Grogan and Allison Grogan, and her brother, Paul Scott of Murray, Ky.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kevin West, and one brother, James Burley Scott Jr. Her parents were James Burley Scott and Maude Dyer Scott.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. Fred French will officiate and burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
