FREDONIA — Margaret Yates, 88, of Fredonia died Saturday at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a retired teacher aide at Hilltop School in Caldwell County and a member of First Baptist Church of Fredonia. She was a past chairman and board member for Pennyroyal Industries.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Yates of Marion, Jerry Yates of Caldwell County, and Joe Yates of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, LaDonna Yates, and one brother. Her parents were August and Margaret Zurmuehlen.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Fredonia Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
