WEST CARROLLTON, OHIO — Counts, Margaret L., “Granny”, age 89, of West Carrollton, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013.
She was born November 10, 1923, in Max Meadows, Va., the daughter of the late Dewey and Annie (Hale) Collins.
Granny attended the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, and was retired from Daytex Fabrics.
She is survived by her daughters, Jean Chapman (Tim) of West Carrollton and Barbara Shepherd-Smith (Myron) of West Carrollton; her son, Bob Counts (Cherry Babb) of Mayfield, Ky.; two sisters, Bonnie Nichols of Beavercreek and Betty Carter of Va.; four grandchildren, Rhonda Blackburn, Jason Counts, Andy Shepherd, Lori Giron; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous stepgrand and great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hazle G. “Pap” Counts; three brothers; one sister; and one grandson, Joseph Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013. at 10:00 a.m. at the Swart & Wolfe Funeral Home in West Carrollton, with Rev. David Schooler officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
