Lyndsey Marie Magness and James Daniel Birdsong will be united in marriage Saturday in Mayfield.

Miss Magness is the daughter of Russ and Joni Magness of Paducah. She is the granddaughter of Paul Walsh of Fancy Farm and the late Rose Edna Walsh, and the late Bill and Barbara Magness. She is a 2004 graduate of Reidland High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Murray State University in 2011. She is employed as a teacher at Wingo Elementary School.

Mr. Birdsong is the son of Ronald Birdsong of Paducah and Wanda and Jim South of Paducah. He is the grandson of the late James H. and Frances L. Traughber, and the late Corbit D. and Ruth Birdsong. He is a 2002 graduate of Heath High School and attended Murray State University. He served in the U.S. Army for four years and as a sergeant in the National Guard for three years. He is employed at Newpage Corp. in Wickliffe.
