METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. Lloyd Loverkamp, age 81, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 4:44 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Lloyd was a retired letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie Loverkamp; two daughters, Kay Jones and husband Galan, and Ann Windhorst and husband Dale; one sister, Lora Mae Kruger, all of Metropolis; five grandchildren, Wendy Little, Tony Windhorst, Heather Kruger, Eric Windhorst, and Randy Adams; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Fern (Arnesman) Loverkamp; two brothers-in-law, Clifford Kruger and Ted Heflin; one sister-in-law, Nina Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Bro. David Wright will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.

Pallbearers will be Donald Bunting, Brian Bunting, Everett Bremer, Austin Little, T.J. Little, and Dwayne Little.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
