MELBER — Mr. and Mrs. Otis Apperson of Melber will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at Owens Chapel Methodist Church in Melber. All friends and relatives are invited.

Mr. Apperson and the former Linda Kay Mullican were married Jan. 30, 1963, by the Rev. Charlie Simmons in Melber. Their attendants were Richard and Katie Glisson.

Mrs. Apperson is a retired registered nurse from Western Baptist Hospital. She is the daughter of Glennes Cheatham of Melber and the late Delbert Mullican.

Mr. Apperson is a retired farmer. He is the son of the late J.W. “Dude” and Anna Lee Apperson.

They are the parents of Annette Hammonds of Melber, Michael Apperson of Carrsville, Va., and Karen Burnett of Melber. They have seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
