MOUNDS, Ill. — Services for Leola Grace Richards, 81, of Mounds will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Center Methodist Church near Olmsted. The Rev. Buddy Walls will officiate. Burial will be in Cache Chapel Cemetery.
She died at 5:35 p.m. Monday at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.
She served as Mounds city clerk and became mayor in 2001. She owned and operated Grace’s Beauty Shop in Mounds.
She was a member of Center Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 178 of Villa Ridge.
Survivors include two sisters, Marie Watson and Janet Sue Farris, both of Villa Ridge; one brother, James “Jim” Richards of Mounds; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents were Willis Richards and Wilma Edwards Richards.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge and after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
