MAYFIELD — Lawrence Edward Scoggins, 72, of Mayfield, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday at his home.

He was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church, was retired from Federal Materials in Mayfield, and he was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his sister, Linda Mae Wade of Mayfield; four brothers, Leland Scoggins and J.E. Scoggins, both of Hickory, Ruby Neal Scoggins of Mayfield, and Robert Earl Scoggins of Wingo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Elmer and Annie Mae Choate Scoggins; and two brothers.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Ronnie Stinson, Sr. and Ronnie Stinson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Trace Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
